Autumn

Italian Renaissance painter Giussepe Arcimboldo painted four astonishing portraits -- The Four Seasons, heads representing each season -- using natural objects like fruits, vegetables, leaves, bark, twigs, trees, ivy, etc.

Four huge and wonderful sculptures now sit outside Artis Naples, the concert and theater venue.
American artist Philip Haas has transformed The Four Seasons into four massive fiberglass sculptures, each of which is maybe 20 feet tall.

They are mesmerizing.

Those sculptures (or ones just like them) were at the Desert Botanical Garden a few years ago. You are so right, they are mesmerizing.

Tremendous train of talent - the original paintings, the tribute sculptures, the well-composed photographs. Superb!
