Biking Sanibel Island

Sanibel is absolutely flat.

Bicyclists flow here and there and everywhere.

Recumbent bicycles, three wheelers, everything.

At some point during their visits, most tourists will rent some bikes
and pedal around the island.

There are 25 miles of bike trails to enjoy.

Looks an idyllic place to ride a bike - like Cambridge but without the crazy car drivers. It seems that the prices to hire a cycle are about the same too.

Looks like fun. It's much better when you don't have to do it on the road.

Only 25 miles of bike trails? That ought to take a couple of hours. I always enjoy a few hills. I've been going down hill for years. :-)

Oh, to be biking again would be such a pleasure. There are hearty souls here who bike year round, but not I.

It sounds like Sanibel is well set for pedelers...and it looks like there are plenty of them, too.

Whenever I'm on the island, I partake in I've named the 'Mucky Duck Challenge': bicycling out and back from the Lighthouse cafe to the Mucky Duck on Captiva. I think it's only 23 miles. But, try doing it in July -- yowza! Not for the faint of heart.
