My Three Favorite 2015 Sunsets

Reviewing my 2015 posts to pick a photo of the year, I realized that I showed quite a few sunsets last year.  Many sunset photos seem bland to me.  You have to show something else in the picture.

I called this boy "the construction worker."  His mother had called to tell him it was time to go home.
I photographed him with the Naples Pier behind him as he decided how big a tantrum to throw.
After a moment, he just picked up his stuff and went to his mother.  Capitulation.

Naples Pier is usually enough interest by itself at sundown, but low tide adds a bit extra.

I violated my own "show something else" rule in this image captured on an evening boat ride in Naples' Rookery Bay.  The sunset was fairly mediocre, but the boat's wake provided interest.

Any silhouette of a child is compelling! I like the curve of the water very much.

Very nice sunsets! I love the young boy looking quite sad at having to leave.

Great selection. I like the 2nd one. But waves made by the boat it is also marvellous.

Near sunset is my favorite time of day. You have captured those beautiful evening colors perfectly.

I wish I was in Naples looking at the sunset right now! Our temps are heading down!

All very beautiful. That was one of my favorite places for sunsets when we lived in the southland. A very Happy New Year to you and yours, Jack!

I agree with your point completely. My favorite is the second one. Delicate color and great sense of depth, so often missing in such images.

All three are wonderful. Glad you didn't witness a tantrum after that first shot. (Longing for a little of that warm climate about now.)

I was going to say I love the second one but then I saw the third one! Breathtaking!

It is easy to see why they are favorites.
