Oscar is five. A year ago his father set up a chess board and Oscar asked how to play.

They asked him if he wanted to play. Soon he was at the table,
concentrating on a chess match.

I hate kids who are smarter than I am! :) Seriously, that's pretty amazing. I play lots of games but never learned chess and I'm too old to do it now! You got a great look on Oscar's face!

We recently saw "The Life of a King" with Cuba Gooding playing an ex-con who teaches chess to inner city kids. Gooding puts in a nice performance.

Bravo Oscar. I'm amazed at how my grandson and others so young learn chess. I captured an 8 year old playing a young man at Luxembourg Gardens last year. Her dad was a chess coach. He was quite proud.
