The late actress Katharine Hepburn was born to a wealthy Hartford family and
made Connecticut her home throughout her illustrious career.
The Connecticut Historical Society has an exhibition
of costumes she wore in her films and plays.

It was raining heavily yesterday, so I dipped into the archives.

Oh, I didn't know she was actually from Hartford! I always assumed she was from NYC. Hmmm
Not only a great actriss, also a strong and beautiful woman, very inspiring . I 'd be delighted to see such an exhibition about her !
Two women I worshiped as a child and young adult were Audrey and Katheine Hepburn. I used Hepburn's photo as my profile for a few years; guess I'll resurrect it again! I'd love that museum. . . lucky you. I'm glad that it rained so you dipped into your archives for this photo. Hope you have a sunny day today!
She had the patrician air of a refined Connecticut background.
I would enjoy seeing this exhibit. I do love a good Katherine Hepburn movie.
She was one of the great actresses. Great looking exhibit! Glad you had such an interesting place to go and get out of the rain!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Jack! Enjoy!
You do not see too often costumes like these...
She was a great actress, and a fine women. Always enjoyed watching her. Thanks for the post.
What a fantastic display!
She was a great actress even if she did come from Connecticut! Ha, ha, ha.
I wonder how many of these were designed by Edith Head?
I always enjoyed watching her perform!
A great actress. I loved her in so many films, but particularly The Philadelphia Story and Bringing Up Baby.
Nice exhibit. My favorite was Adam's Rib.
She had such elegance she could have worn rags and still carry them beautifully.
(BTW: Sometimes photo ops in the country are a little thin. Lacking skyscrapers, an Elizabeth Park, or a stunning library building one makes do. And a public restroom can at times be a most welcome sight, don't you think?)
I"m having a flashback to a Hepburn exhibit at the American Art Gallery in D.C. years ago. I thought she was fabulous.
