Box

Maybe I did get just one little thing for myself on the trip to Russia.

A black lacquered, hand-painted, papier mache box
featuring the Church of Dimitry on Blood in Uglich.

Wow! For a second there, I thought we might have another photo of you. Caught in the 60s?

That is beautiful. I would have been tempted by that too. But, then I'm sure there would have been quite a lot of things that would have tempted me on a trip to Russia.

Nah, Birdman should know better. You'd have worn pink...

Love this (I have a small Snegurochka one). It's beautiful.

Phew! I had the same reaction as Birdman for a moment...one of those self-portraits: "after retirement, before I found myself by starting a blog."
Beautiful souvenir!

Nice piece of art you have there.

This is, I presume, the artist and not someone from our Deep South. Papier mache - how much more transient and precious the object becomes.

For a moment, I thought you meant the beard. Pretty little box, I like the folk art style.
