Sue spent Saturday clearing her driveway, walkways to the side and front doors, and paths on this patio for her dog to frolic. And, she had to shovel snow away from her outdoor grill and hot tub, and clear snow from the fire hydrant in front of her house.
Sue reports that the snow on her front walkway was up to her waist. She had to break through four foot mounds where the town's snow plows had piled snow at the start of the front walkway.
For those who are not familiar with New England architecture, this photograph of Sue's garage shows the advantage of our steeply pitched roofs in shedding heavy snowfalls. Sue, thanks for lending me this photograph. I hope your muscles are all recovered from Saturday's workout.
I was in Florida playing golf, but I was thinking about my friends in New England . . .

Unbelievable Jack.. I can see why you emigrate to Florida through the winter, 25/30c sounds much better, especially as you are a golfer, putting in waist deep snow..tricky haha!!
Thank you, Sue! Now I know why y'all have such steep roofs. I imagine that would help in heavy rainfall too, but we might need a moat around the house!

Lovely to look at but definitely not a great deal of fun when dealing with it. Now is the right time to have a snow removal service, but i wonder how long it would take them to get to all their customers. Real heart attack weather.

Gee, I bet you're sorry you're in Florida and missing all of this, Jack!!! But have to admit I'd rather enjoy it from a distance, too! That is a LOT of snow!!

Wow, that is quite a lot of snow and it sounds like Sue really did have to spend an entire day getting it cleared enough to move around. Too bad you missed all this...:-)
It is beautiful to look at but my arms are still aching from all the shovelling we did here and we only got 1/2 the amount of Connecticut!

I hope you had a good round of golf! ;) I spent the day shoveling, but I did manage to get some photography in. I was disappointed in that I couldn't walk as much as I wanted to. No sidewalks had been cleared, and the main roads were still pretty much snow-covered, and treacherous to walk on with the traffic. Needless to say, I didn't drive anywhere this weekend.
I just have no concept of that much snowfall... Seattle is fairly paralyzed by 6"... glad you're out of the storm..
Poor Sue...having to dig her way out of that! The only thing you may have been digging out of was a sandtrap....if things went awry.
