One thing I love about 'back East' as we used to call it when I lived in California, are those fabulous porches. Plenty of room for a chair to sit on and watch the world go by.

I'm interested in architecture. All the filigree makes me thing of its opposite, the mid 20th Century school literally Known as Brutalism.

I like this a lot. I wouldn't want to live in a place built in the 1840s but it is certainly attractive and appealing.
