Time to get the Italian Christmas cookies at Mozzicato, a bakery in Hartford's South End. The lovely and friendly Pesta shows them off. Pesta is from Albania.
John was in line behind me. He gets cookies every year for his contractors. He has been coming to Mozzicato in the holiday season since he was a child.

Smiling faces and sweets... who could ask for more.
As half italian, I can only approve! :o).
As I'll be away a few days , I already wish you a
Happy Christmas , dear Jack!
This makes me feel very hungry. :)
John's comments and long patronage of the bakery is a strong endorsement for the place and its goodies.
It's probably a very good job that shop isn't near
me!
That looks like a delicious treat!
I used to be able to buy pignoli cookies. No one in my new area makes them and I miss them VERY MUCH. Pine nuts are probably too expensive now. Perhaps they exist at Mozzicato!
I'm really not a 'sweet' guy. But I can could go for a plate of these I bet.
They look good and come with such a lovely smile! My own Pfeffernüsse are in the oven right now. There's flour everywhere in the kitchen. :-(
Great! I want some.
I would have to steer clear of this place. In fact, if I were you, I'd probably have to stay in south Florida.
BTW, what's an Albanian "cookie" doing working in an Italian store? :-)
Lovely! Happy faces and yummy food...perfect!
What lovely looking cookies and interesting faces! I've ordered some tiramisu for our Christmas dinner and will pick it up Mondaym Christmas Eve. Yum.
O, yum.
That reminds me that I still have to buy a Panetonne - love those great Italian treats!
Yea please.
I'll take them all!
I appreciate the long tradition this shop represents to Hartford. Pretty amazing to have a business continue for this many years.
Oh yes, there's always room for an Italian Christmas cookie si!!
Mozzicato is an Italian dialectal form for 'bitten', which seems to be perfect for this place!
Now if I lived in Hartford ...you'd find me lined up right behind John. Looks delightful!
Nice to have a good local bakery for this time of year. Looks delish!
looks so very pretty!
but since i started baking i dont like to buy that anymore... and just try to make everything myself..
Wow, you lucky people!!:)
Enjoy!
Have a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Such scrumptious-looking offerings: my waistline (wherever it's located) is grateful I don't live close enough to partake!! You can have my share Jack. Trusting you had a joy-filled Christmas with loved ones.
