This is the partially completed mandala about three weeks ago. It is now almost complete. On Sunday, the nuns will ceremoniously dismantle the mandala. They will disperse the sands into the Connecticut River at Charter Oak Landing in Hartford, a gesture signifying the impermanence of life. The public is invited to observe these rituals.
I have been away and my laptop died, so I have not looked at many other blogs recently. But, now I am back and I have a new laptop (a Mac, this time). If I can figure out how to use it, I will see you!

It's lovely, Jack!
Everytime I see a mandala, my visit to Tibet comes to my mind. This one is particularly beautiful!
Wonderful! And kudos to you for continuing to post everyday while you were computer-challenged!
Wow, this is amazing and so beautiful.
Like the mandala, your old computer has yielded to the inevitability of the cycle of life. My MacBookAir is about to do that.
Interesting that this will be dismantled. It's so beautiful.
You'll love your iMac, Jack. Be patient and soon you'll be a pro. :)
This mandala is stunning, and they usually are. It is great that you have been able to see the process, and even better that you have shared it with us.
You will come to love your new Mac. Hope you have a friend who can help you install software and start you off on the right foot.
It is awesome indeed and such incredible colors!! Thanks for sharing this, Jack! Glad you have a new computer and I'm sure you'll master it in record time and I know you'll enjoy it!! Have a great weekend -- I'm fairly sure where you'll spend a large part of it -- maybe of several!!
That is very beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen one before. Welcome to the Mac fan club - at least, I hope you'll soon be a fan. I'm sure it won't take you long to get familiar with it, they are very intuitive.
This is so incredible! Such craftsmanship. Wonderful.
I've always been on a Mac so I'm sure you will love it!
Stunning colors! Mac? Nice choice! Would love one myself.
Good to see you're back! This mandala is beautiful. I definitely like the idea that it's not permanent as well. Life is fleeting!
Gorgeous!
This is so amazing. A new MAC lucky you.
Very interesting photo and post. Enjoy your new Mac. I've used them for years and they work well.
A beautiful mandala. Compassion.... something I think I country could certainly use.
Wonderful colors, it's a beautiful mandala!
