A tragic but tender moment captured very well by the sculptor. I used images like this one with poems written by nurses who tended the dying during my Vietnam unit when I was still teaching. Hard for me as a young adult, wife and new mother during the Vietnam era. I think the students preferred the protest songs, tho.
A beautiful and very moving sculpture, Jack, and wonderful captures. Vietnam still holds heartbreaking images for many of us. Hope you have a great day! Enjoy the moment!

The sculptor certainly captured the emotion.
Interesting.

Such excellent sculptures. In Vietnam, women served mainly in the supply and medical end of things, but there services were vital.
Yes, I know, that last sentence should end with "their services..." Sheesh! You didn't have to yell at me!
That is a very moving sculpture.
Nice artwork.
Thanks for showing an up close look on this sculpture. Very moving.
Agree with all the comments here: really expressive sculpture!
God bless you!

This is such a beautiful piece. Lovely shot as well Jack. Nicely captured.
Nice close-up. Poignant sculpture. I enjoyed the tour through the Capitol. Now, I'm wondering what's next?

Interesting sculpture for a well deserved memorial.
I wasn't familiar with this sculpture. Women's contributions to such events tend to get overlooked so it is wonderful to see this!
Beautiful sculpture. I wasn't familiar with it, either.
Beautifully sculpted! Very moving piece.
Really a touching sculpture.
A beautiful and meaningful piece. You've done a fine job showing us the Capitol Jack.

And it was a very good series. I enjoyed it.
How times change. A contemporary memorial to women soldiers might depict them in full battle gear in the mountains of Afghanastan.
The sculpture is phenomenal.
When I first saw the title (and I do not mean any disrespect) was that it was a contradiction of terms.
I LOVE the top composition, Jack! Well done.
