House Chamber

The House of Representatives is the lower chamber in Connecticut's bicameral legislature.  There are 151 representatives, each representing about 23,000 residents.

Governor William Buckingham, whom I showed on Tuesday, was the subject of a long profile in the Hartford Courant yesterday.  That is quite a coincidence, isn't it?

Certainly a different angle and perspective! Some states do not allow photos in either chamber.

amazing how often those 'coincidences' occur.

I love peeking inside these chambers. Many years a go, when I went through a leadership program, I got to sit in one of these seats in our Hourse of Representatives here in Arizona. Somewhere I have a photo of it.
Sounds to me like great publishing minds were thinking alike this week.

Very nice Jack!

That is a lot of Legislators, particularly for a rather small state. Everyone would certainly have ample opportunity to get to know their own Legislator if they have only 23,000 residents per district.

That is quite a coincidence! Interesting indeed! I'm really enjoying this tour of your state capitol, Jack, and your photos are really wonderful, love the detail in so many of them! Hope you have a very Happy Easter weekend! Enjoy!

This is a wonderful series; beautiful details. You might find some amusing contrast with my photo of the Sequim City Hall posted yesterday: http://www.sequimwadailyphoto.com/index.php/2012/04/06/sequim-city-hall/#comments
Shall we say it's a bit more modest?

I was thinking also that that was a very small number of representatives for each rep!

Nah, they obviously stole the idea from you. I've never been in either chamber of the Missouri legislature, although I testified at a committee hearing once. Don't like what goes on there these days anyway. Your's is warm and dignified.

I misread your title as "Horse Chamber." In Florida, it would be a more than apt description.

Is the low angle for the lower chamber? :) Interesting POV, Jack.
