Cobblestones

On the first day of each month, the City Daily Photo bloggers post photographs illustrating a theme.  For April, the theme is "cobblestones."  This is not an easy theme to handle in Hartford at the last minute.  So, I searched my archives and came up with this image from Lucca, Italy, in September 2010.

There was definitely something happening between these two.

Yes, a great action shot. The dog appears to wish he could be elsewhere. :)

Pardon the stereotypes, but I think he wants her to take the dog while he finds a sports bar, and she wants to go into yet another shoe store.

He looks a bit like my boss! Fun shot and Lucca is such a lovely city, isn't it?

Definitely the dog is the focus of this image for me. Oh, yeah, and nice cobblestones! Great theme day shot, even if you had to dig for it!

A perfect photo of European cobblestones, Jack! Love the Italian feel of the pic! Ciao!

Very nice Jack!

You must have a good archive system, Jack, to dig this one up from 2010. I guess that couple was in their own world not to notice you snapping their pic. Of course, Fido has his eye on you.

I was going to say that this part of Hartford looks surpringly European! Then i read your text. I think we could write a little short story based on this photo. You really caught something here. Great choice for the theme day!

I see you are a person of resources. Very good choice.

I didn't even think to search the photos from Europe. You are one smart guy!

I was quite intrigued at first because, judging from all you've shown us, this didn't look like a street in Hartford! :-) Well, it's Italy, love it too. Nice capture, Jack.

Being a nosy old broad, my first look at your photo was not at the beautiful cobblestone street, but at the couple and wondering what their conversation sounded like!!! The dog looks bored, the guy needs to shave his beard and she needs to look for a new companion!! And I love your capture, Jack, as always!!

It is enjoyable to read all the comments on this one. I think he is not listening to her because his mind and eyes are elsewhere.

Yep, definitely. And he knew that you knew.

Great theme day shot Jack.

I knew this photo was in Italy, I just knew it! Before I scrolled down, I thought it might be in Florence. You're so right, Jack, something's going on here.

Thanks for stopping by Portland Oregon Daily Photo!

He: "Look, love me, love my dog!"

She: "Well, that's too tall an order. I like your dog but I can't love him. And I don't want him in bed with us on our honeymoon."

He: "Okay, we'll just call the whole thing off!"

She: "That sounds like a song! And by the way, get rid of that stupid hat!"

He: "I'm gonna miss you!"

She: "Doggone it!"

As my dad would say...I think she might have been, "giving him the business".

This would be a great prompt for "title this photo." So much to read into the scene. Even the dog seems to be saying something. No cobblestones here, unless I go to the landscapers and find them in a bag.

Kinda crappy shot if you don't mind me saying so.
