Lombard Street is that steep street in San Francisco with eight hairpin turns. If you go to San Francisco with a camera, you have to take pictures on Lombard Street. Most of your pictures will be of other photographers taking pictures of still more photographers.
Many men with hot cars cruise down Lombard Street, preening for the photographers. Whatever floats your boat.

Nice car for a Sunday drive!
Beautiful composition, Jack.
I think it would be more fun in an old Mini Cooper or better still, an old Fiat 500!
I've been there. Yes, it's funny that people are there to be photographed, but, gee, it's California! It all makes sense. :)
Each time I see this street, I can't help thinking of (my beloved) Steve Mac Queen!and yesterday's shot was about Clint Eastwood!A real place of pilgrimage for a movies lover like me! :o)
"Preening"? It's been awhile since I've heard that word. I thought only girls "preened." :-)
This is a super composition. Great colors, too and what a view!
Just so you know, I didn't think it was Hartford, Connecticut.
I've been to Lombard and got the usual shots looking back up at the turns. This vantage point is not one I have seen and I love it.
I love this photo, and the car:)
Have a nice Sunday!
Would be fun turning down Lombard St in a RED vette! We were there and then took a tour out at Alcatraz!
Nothing beats travelling through San Fran in an open top car
My heart skipped a beat when I thought about red Vettes from years gone by. Sigh

Somehow, this seems like the perfect car for this little drive.
What a terrific capture, Jack! Love that RED car! And, of course, who doesn't love Lombard St! Wouldn't want to live there, of course, but it is a priceless sight! Hope your weekend is going well!

Looking good there Jack!
If you've got it, flaunt it!
Nice shot Jack!
That brings us nice memories, and yes, what a unique street that is!
God bless you!

I'll stick with my old bicycle but I'll be using my hands to hang on to the handlebars. No time for preening!
I could go for a drive in that!
I had to be one of the ones that had to drive Lombard Street, well actually I was a rider, the driver being a male friend. I think men have to drive Lombard Street to bring out their inner Steve McQueen.
A red car, red road and red roofs in the distance. Nice composition. But try saying it five times in a row fast!
Very flashy car .... I'd love to go there .
Well, something about that appeals to me - the view, the Vette.. I want to be there!
A "cool" capture Jack - really nice car! Happy week
Very cool shot Jack, what a view from up there. Made me think if that tv series The Streets of San Francisco'..Karl Malden I think. Many a car chase has been filmed in these streets I think.Love the way you've caught these guys cruisin'.
That's funny! You got a good looking car in yours!
I have to say that I like that car.
Nice wheels Jack! I have been to San Fran, but I don't remember this particular street. :)
Fine photo with for ground, middle ground, and back ground which fits together beautifully. Always loved Lombard St, and drove down it back in the 1960s in my Mustang. What fun.
I would prefer to walk. I love this street.
I would really like this place!
Great capture with a wonderful view!
P.S. It's the furnace I posted yesterday.
I've got a picture of me on Lombard street from 1978. You sure found a super subject to add flare to the photo.
Do you remember Disney's 360 degree camera movie of America? Fire engine on Lombard St. I loved that movie. I really felt like I was right there in the middle of the scenery.
PS - did you make it to Twin Peaks at night?
That red car would certainly "float my boat" despite the torturous metaphor! Lombard Street-nay, San Francisco certainly floats my boat.
