The Travelers' Red Umbrella Again (and Again)

 A flash shot from under the Travelers' red umbrella produced a nice washed-out image.

The red umbrella also greets travelers at the Hartford-Springfield airport. Projectors cast six large red umbrellas on the wall.  Each big red umbrella is made up of thousands of little red umbrellas.  As passengers break the light beam, the little umbrellas jump around, amusing passers-by.

This post is linked to Ruby Tuesday.

how could anyone be 'under the weather' when there is this much fun to be had with umbrellas?

Very cute, I think. Folks up in Hartford probably enjoy this kind of thing in the dead of winter. Well, the kids, especially, from what I see in your photos.

I really like that first photo!

I was told years ago that the Traveler's Umbrella was, I think, the 4th most recognizable symbol. Of course, McDonald's arches were first. But, I still found this surprisingly impressive.

I wonder what the corporate branding consultants were drinking when they came up with that airport display. I think that clever design will be copied elsewhere with other logos. It is a great way to participate with and engage the passerby.

If I was a kid I would be there for hours! Might still be there for hours at this age - very cool.

I like that low-down shot under the umbrella, looking up at those tall buildings!

DITTY IN RED

Just a pinch of scarlet
To liven up the place;
Just a hint of ruby
Brushed upon your face;
Just a bit of cherry
Dancing round your toes;
Just some sanguine colors—
That’s the way it goes!

What great fun! My daughters would love the light attraction. And Jack, Bellingham suprisingly has three neighboring casinos. I think they are mainly populated with our Canadian neighbors.
