Trinity Football Extends the Record

The Trinity football team won its 40th game in a row at its home field in Hartford on Saturday.  Ten years without losing a game at home!  That is the longest home winning streak in the country.  They beat Williams on Saturday, 21 - 13.  The last time the Bantams lost in Hartford was 2001, and it was Williams who beat them.
I have had the fun of watching major conference football in a stadium of 106,000 screaming fans, but it is also fun watching a football game at a Division 3 school along with 3,800 of the athletes' friends, families, alumni and classmates.  The players at Trinity and Williams know that they will not go on to play professional football . . . they just play because they like playing football.

That is a remarkable record. It looks like other teams have reason to fear the chicken

I particularly like the shots of the fans. What a novel idea...to play a sport for the simple pleasure of playing.

Fun post (and an amazing record!) Love that second shot -- looks like the player was almost doing a handstand. You captured a great atmosphere in your pics.

Love the enthusiasm of the young woman in the third shot. With fans like that, of course they're winning. It's a remarkable record!

I know nothing about football, but the 2nd picture is amazing, Jack!
No wonder, that the fans are so enthusiastic!

Yesterday's and today's series of photos are just plain wonderful, Jack. You and Jim and Brian, both at Terrell, Texas, are able to take fantastic sports photos. Hooray for Trinity teams!

Oooof! what a tackle in that second shot Jack, fantastic catch! Looks like a tough game, great home team winning record, let's hope it continues, although sometimes I think a loss now and again is good for the soul!! Love the candid crowd scenes.

What terrific captures! Love the crowd shots and the expressions on the faces! And the action shots are wonderful - next best thing to being there. And that is the best reason for doing anything -- because we like it! Hope your week is off to a great start, Jack! Enjoy!

Looks like a great game....and your fan shots are super. I can feel excitement!
(The building in front of which they play looks pretty fancy.)

Would rather go to see a game like that than seing a professional game rotten by money!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful shots, Jack. Love the building in the background of the first shot;o)

Looks like everyone is having fun! It's always great to get out and see a game in person.

That's a great record. Our local football (soccer) team, Bradford City, also have the nickname 'the Bantams'. Sadly they are nowhere near that record of home wins.

These games prove to be as exciting as the big games.

You have strange birds in your neck of the woods, some of them are purple and white, some of them are blue, and some fly upside down;)
