Dancing Queen

Elizabeth Park hosted its regular Wednesday night concert, with Steppin' Out, a six-piece band with a sax, guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and a female singer.  They mainly perform foot-stomping, body-swaying dance music of the '70s through the '90s.  I'm going to show a bunch today.  You can stop looking whenever you want.

Did I dance?  Noooo.  That would have made the camera shake.

you put us right there in the middle of the crowd.

This is a large crowd for a concert in a park. People of all generations seem to be having a good time. Music can be a "generation gapper," with people people enjoying different music based on what they listened to when they came of age. Your photos show a broader appeal of this music in the park experience.

Sounds like fun evening.

The appreciative crowd is quite large. This is one of the perks of summer: people of all ages getting together to enjoy outdoor activities: music, markets, art fairs, music...you name it. LOVE SUMMER! Love the diverse facial expressions on the people in your photos

There is a bit of ABBA resemblance in a couple of the blond shots.

I love all your photos today, Jack! Everyone looks like they're having such a great time! The 70s to 90s were great dancing years to be sure and I most certainly did my share! Loved it! Thanks for the fun start to my day! Enjoy yours!

Such a big crowd for this event and everyone looks like they are having a wonderful time. It kind of make me think of the two years I spent working in Chicago where they had Movies in the Park at Grant park. I was always amazed at the number of people it drew and again, everyone having a great time.

But the question is: Jack, did you dance?

I bet this was wonderful, I don't mind that kind of crowd!

Excuses, excuses. Just get out there and shake it!

Nice photos of what looks like a good time. I'm not much of a dancer either, though!

Whoa...people really get in to their dance moves don't they?
I'd feel safer on your side of the camera I think:)

Looks like great fun. And reminds me of The Villages except in The Villages most of the folks are a bit older!

Great to see people enjoying themselves, all generations together. The more I see of your Elizabeth Park the more I think it serves the same purposes as Roberts Park in Saltaire - though you have better weather!

I love the shot of the guitarist. Your assignment next Wednesday should be "photographer involvement"! P.S. See my other comment about HDP & portraits!

beam me up, that looks like fun. My favorite is the second to last shot, he looks like a cool cat and someone that would be interesting to meet.
