Ice

Ice is harvested from the lake in January and stored in this ice house under layers of sawdust.
If you have two minutes to squander, I guarantee you will enjoy this video of the 2014 ice harvest.  

Every day a block of ice is delivered to your ice box.

Wacky Canoe Races

"Get set . . . go!"

"Around the raft of the Lake Sharks and return to the dock." 

"Back to the raft again."

"Store your paddles and get back using only your arms."

This is my 1500th post.  The wacky canoe races are a perfect subject for it.

Kids Doing Stuff

The Talent Show on Wednesday night is pretty cute.  Most participants were girls.  Why?

Monday night the kids played capture the flag.  They left this little girl uncovered.
Don't underestimate fast little girls.

But, of course, some kids would rather read by themselves.  With a furry friend.

Rustic Living

Time slows.  The pace is like a time long ago.

It might be an imagined past.

But it is a good one.

Simple Pleasures

Jumping off the dock.  The diving platform and the diving board.
Canoes and kayaks and boats.  Tubes and floats and noodles. 

You can't always tell if the dads or the kids are having more fun.
