Clyde Butcher is an elderly photographer with a gallery an hour to the east of Naples, at the edge of the Everglades. He shows exquisitely sharp, large scale, black and white photographs of nature.
Clyde's wife Niki is increasingly showing her images in the gallery.
Hers usually have nearly pastel colors.
The osprey left its nest, but impatient chirping continued from inside. The mate? Chicks? I assumed the adult would be back soon, so I trained my lens at the nest and waited. It came back. Got it!
I almost skipped posting on our annual theme of "Photo of the Year." Many decent photos, but none that I thought were "wow." Still, I have increasingly photographed birds, originally a response to "There is nothing else to do" in the early days of the pandemic.

An osprey parent flew at me to discourage me from pointing a camera at its nest. "Birds," March 30.
