I live in a bubble. Hurricane Ian flooded the roads in my community, but it didn't enter any houses and has long since receded. The community looks the same as usual.
But, north and south of me the damage was huge.
Yesterday I decided to drive along Hickory Boulevard in Bonita Springs up to Fort Myers Beach to see how things look in the places that were hit hard. I made it only as far as one mile up Hickory Boulevard. Six weeks after the storm, sand and debris are still everywhere. Brutal. It goes on for tens of miles.
I don't need to see any more.

Scary times, and it will only get worse. A tough time for a lot of families.
I hope these people have not been forgotten and that work is being done to help getting their lives back together.
Jack, your photos show the astounding power of Mother Nature to do damage. So glad you escaped the worst of the damage. I expect these people will rebuild and repair, but it will take a long tine.
That's going to take time.
Sad to see. Glad your own home was spared.
Yikes!
