Jim and Bill

Jim moved to Ridgefield with his family in 1971.  He has lived here ever since.  Jim is on the grounds crew of the municipal golf course in the summer and he drives the Zamboni at the ice rink in winter.

Jim has a big handlebar mustache "right under his nose."  He has been cultivating it for countless years.

And on my recent trip out west, I met Bill, who has been a volunteer in the Grand Canyon for 21 years.  Bill has an impressive crop "right under his nose."  He started it in 1967.  Seriously!  Bill told me that his wife chopped off about a foot of his beard within the previous month.

The September 1 theme for City Daily Photo photographers is "right under your nose."

What I need to know now is whether Bill's wife had his permission to perform the pogonotomy or was he asleep at the time?

Two fine portraits that are perfect for theme day. Both these guys look like interesting people.
