Out of the Jurisdiction: Baby Giraffe

A giraffe center outside Nairobi, Kenya, cares for endangered Rothschild's "white socks" giraffes.
A mother grooms her one-day old baby.

The same photograph, before cropping.  They are called "white socks" because
their legs are white below the knee.

Two weeks in Kenya and Tanzania looking at animals.  Today I had both wifi and some free time.
Next posting opportunity is probably in four days.  Until then, there are daily posts from Connecticut.

Well done... I like the the cropping. It fills the frame with their body patterns.

That is a great photo of the young one and it's mother.

Giraffe are such wonderful animals. It is such a shame they have become "endangered". Your photos are sweet with the mother and calf. Enjoy the rest of your adventure.

What a beautiful shot and what an amazing event to see. I expect that day old giraffes aren't very common. Lucky you! Enjoy your travels.

What an incredible photo, Jack. Glad to know that you are out roaming the world. You can ask the three year old granddaughter about my favorite animal - They all know that it is the giraffe, and I do love this shot.
