Tallinn, Estonia, has a fine medieval Old Town, with a walled Upper Town with many government buildings and embassies, and a charming Lower Town with churches, residences and squares.
The Lower Town is viewed from an outlook of the walled Upper Town. St. Olaf's church is
from 1267, when it was the tallest building in the world. Now it is the tallest in Tallinn.
Can anyone help me take down the marvelous gates to the Tallinn government building's courtyard
and ship them back to the States?
There was a fine mist on the day I visited Tallinn, the first day that was not sunny
in the first eleven days in Scandinavia. It added atmosphere. A square in the Lower Town.
A gull posed insistently at the Upper Town overlook to the Lower Town.
I didn't have a choice. So, "click."

Always nice to see fine photographs of places which have hitherto just been names on a map to me. The city has something of a fairy-tale quality, enhanced perhaps by the atmospheric conditions.
I have been following your latest adventure without comment. Just letting you know I am enjoying every photo.
It's wonderful to see places I've never been and I thank you Jack for posting such beautiful photos. I love that gull just sitting there waiting for his photo to be taken :)
What a pretty skyline in that first shot. Those gates are gorgeous. I don't blame you for wanting to take them with you.
A wonderfully cheeky gull! Beautiful shots... and just to think, thirty years ago it would have been quite difficult for those in the West to visit these parts of Europe.
A nice town, love the photo with the gull !
We are all having a fine time traveling along with you on this trip, Jack!
Jack, your travels continue to enrich those of us who follow your blog. Great shots.
