These days, if I am in New York City and have time, I go first to the High Line.
No such luck today.
Iddi had a stand to sell his bold and colorful animal paintings.
People can't resist posing with Sleepwalker (Tony Matelli, 2014).
Yesterday I posted from the Chelsea neighborhood of New York. The bomb blast you have read about was on 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. My hotel was five blocks north.
I heard police sirens and emergency vehicles, but that is part of the music of the city,
so I didn't think about it. So, thanks to those who asked, but I was not affected.
And, fortunately, the 29 injured people are all out of the hospital.

Glad to hear you were safe. I've read about the High Line and will have to get down there some time. Looks like the perfect place for you hang out with many unique characters that you have captured well.
Yesterday I heard an interview on NPR with a man who owns a plant shop in Chelsea. I immediately thought of the photo you posted yesterday. That man had the most positive attitude.
Love the high-line photos.
The High Line is such a good concept. Terrific shots!
Thanks for the pics of the park, Jack! It looks like a great place1
Glad you are okay!!
The park looks like a great place to pass some time in. Was thinking of you when we heard the news about the explosion. Glad you weren't affected. Crazy world!
The High Line is such a great facility for the city. Glad you were not near the Chelsea bombing. That was such a terrible thing to do, so I hope they catch that guy and provide all that justice will allow. Glad to see that you have found some Weese weeds in your last shot. (That is Carl Weese, photographer and blogger.)
I hadn't heard of the 'Highline' before Jack, excellent spot for people watching.. even if they did have all their clothes on ☺Happy to hear that even though you were fairly close to the incident yesterday you were safe.
Phew! Glad you missed the "excitement" in Chelsea.
I love these shots. Eye candy of so many sorts. It looks like you and your camera had a wonderful time.
