Mark Twain House

Deb and I walked through the Mark Twain House.  Here are a few features.
The front hall has elaborate stenciling.  To see a very cool virtual tour of the front hall, click here
A gorgeous ceiling is directly above the stairwell in the front hall.
There is a marvelous carved fireplace in the library.  Here is a virtual tour.
Mark Twain is the nom de plume for Samuel Langhorne Clemens.  He was devoted to his wife,
Olivia ("Livy") Langdon Clemens.  Her bust is in the drawing room.
The third floor billiards room was a favorite place for Twain to smoke,
drink and entertain his gentlemen friends.

It's great to see pictures of the Twain house. Cannot tell you how many times my wife and I have talked about stopping and taking a tour. I will definitely have to do it now! Thanks Jack.

Wow, this is quite a remarkable place. And that virtual tour site is amazing. I spent way too much time touring all the rooms. Growing up in Quincy Illinois, right across the river from Hannibal Missouri, I went through Mark Twain's boyhood home a few times and it's easy to see looking at this home that he came a long way in his life time.

Wow, looks like Sam could walk into these rooms at any time. Thank you for the look inside this home.

I, too, have seen Twain's Hannibal residence and agree with Sharon about the differences.
