Barefoot Beach and Little Hickory Bay

It is very quiet down here now.  Many of the northerners have gone back.
The last four days have been heavenly.  Clear blue skies, still waters and no humidity.

Little Hickory Bay is glassy in late afternoon.

People are still on Barefoot Beach.

Gopher tortoises are laying eggs now.  Nesting areas are marked off.

Gopher tortoises are herbivores.

A swallow-tailed kite soars above.

Judging from these photos, I'd say that all is well in beautiful Florida!

Enjoy your last week of warmth, Jack!

The tortoise looks like a character. Quite a lady in the second shot!

It must be refreshing when it all goes quiet for a while and before it gets too hot to move. Lovely photos again. What a stunning bird.

Love the reflections in your first shot. Also like the beach shots. How lucky to be able to see one of the nesting tortoises.

Lots going on at that beach. Glad you can take us there with your camera eye.

Spectacular shots, especially glassy Little Hickory Bay. I don't think I've ever seen a swallow-tailed kite. Love it!
