Mark Twain Celebrates Independence Day with Bunting

Hartford's biggest tourist attraction -- the Mark Twain House -- hasn't appeared here in almost
four years, so as we approach the Fourth of July, I hope it is OK to show it again,
wearing its American flag buntings.

Is there a Patriot in the house? Certainly looks that way with all the buntings. Twain had lots to say about country and government.

Here is a quote that might be appropriate for the 4th: Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.
Mark Twain

This is really a very original house, not wondering it is a tourist attraction !
Is it open for visits or can it only be seen from the outside?

I think four years is more than a respectable time lapse. Have you been inside Jack?

Glad to see this historical house again, and draped for the holiday!

I love seeing this place. It's such a beautiful place. It certainly beats his boyhood home in Hannibal Missouri near where I grew up.

I've seen a video tour of the home. Plenty of nooks to smoke a good cigar... and he did.

Wow, he had a rather large house.

And it is still just as beautiful, Jack!

19th Century elegance. I knew he lived in Hartford for many years but never learned what brought him there.
