Sand Sculpture

Fort Myers Beach hosts a ten-day sand sculpture exhibition and competition every November.

Two sand sculptors added children's heads to their work.

That is a palm behind the woman on the right, not a crazy wig.

The castle was a popular prize winner.

Amazin' Walter built the castle.

Very different from the sand castles I used to build back when I was a kid.

I'm ALWAYS amazed when someone puts so much time making something exquisite yet ephemeral!

Wonderful sand castles, but so much work for a few hours of glory...

Fabulous, Jack! What a fragile medium that must be.

Amazing that the sculptors get the sand to maintain the detail of their work. Especially in the second for last photo. Great images.

I would like to watch that. I don't understand how the sand remains so stable. A real art. Great series Jack.
