Emily James has been an artist in Naples for many years.
Last month she opened her own gallery a few steps off Fifth Avenue South.
She is featured in the current issue of a local Naples glossy magazine.
I walked past while the doors were open and Emily was painting.

I like the colors she is using in her latest work of art.

She is rather fashionably dressed while working. Must be a "neat" painter!!
Nice to see an artist at work inside her own gallery. I agree with Kate though. When I paint I don't dress as neatly. Emily must be an exceptional painter.
Maybe she knew you'd be walking by and dressed for the occasion. No?
It's certainly a beautiful portrait of the artist at work.
Another terrific capture for the day, Jack! You're getting better by the hour and I do so enjoy your posts/photos!! Keep 'em coming and have a great weekend!!
Unusual to see an artist dressed up while working!
The best dressed artist at work that i've seen, Jack!
Isn't it interesting that so many people have similar thoughts.. she's an attractive woman and a good artist by the looks of it - and wearing the kind of outfit I'd put on for a very refined occasion!
Lovely woman. I don't get that dressed up for anything, much less to work with paint. Sure you didn't warn her you were coming?
Looks like the start of something wonderful.
Sniping, as some of us call it, and very well done. She dresses very upper class for an artist but maybe that's the style of the area.
Nice shot Jack. You caught her just at the right moment.
I'm with Kay! I can't imagine dressing that nicely to paint. But, it's all about image and marketing, isn't it? Whenever I see an artist painting, and I have my camera with me, I can never resist stopping for a photo.
It must be a very exciting day for an artist when they can open their own gallery Jack.. Well done Emily, congratulations.
An excellent portrait!
i like her blouse!!
What fun to watch an artist at work!
A very nice portrait of the artist.
I would have loved to see her work.
