Firefighter Training

An old building near West Hartford Center is being demolished to erect a new office building.
Before the demolition, the owners gave the Fire Department permission to
use the building for training.  The firefighters were thrilled.
It gave them more realism than their usual training.

Nice photos Jack. They gave me a feeling of height.

Wonderful guys (and gals?) in a very dangerous profession! I am glad that you took these photos to give us some sense of what they learn to do-- with the obvious difficulty of their jobs.

You have some good photos here showing one of the dangers of their profession, height!

Well captured Jack!

I'm glad they did that. Firefighters need all the training they can get for that tough job.

What great training indeed and they do indeed need all they can get!! Terrific captures, Jack, as always!

I like the angles. It's a tough but required occupation.

The fire station yard near us is littered with scrap cars - seems they spend more time cutting people out of crashes than they do fighting fires these days. Did I tell you I brought eight photos of fire trucks back home from my US trip? They're so excitingly shiny, much more blingy than ours!

I know it's a serious job. I know they need the training and all. But I'll bet they had a good time sawing that roof to pieces.

Realistic firefighter training is essential, and your photos capture the action quite well. Our FD sometimes burns unwanted farm houses as training exercises. They sure do burn hot and fast.
