A White Rose to Honor Andrew J. Stern

The footprints of the two World Trade Center buildings now hold memorial fountains,
each about an acre in size, with waterfalls cascading down 30 feet into the pools.
Bronze panels with the names of the nearly 3,000 victims ring the pools.
Some visitors place white roses to honor a victim.
R.I.P. Andrew J. Stern.

Nice idea to place white roses to honour the memories of victims.

Beautiful composition on top. I didn't visit the World Trade Center (before 9/11), but I have some shots of the Twin Towers.

When we were in NYC a few years ago, there was only a big hole and a construction site...

Thank you for this moving post, Jack. 9/11 created a wound in our nation which has yet to heal. I'll never forget watching these events unfold on TV in real time.

A moving memorial indeed and thank you for sharing. One can almost feel the pain, just looking at your photos.

Unlike José, I went up one of the Twin Towers, though for the life of me can't remember which one. The white rose is lovely.

Truly touching to see the white rose placed in memory.

A somber memorial, to be sure.

This is a huge memorial but it manages to be understated. It's very nice.
