I nearly always prefer color, but the black and white version has good clarity
and contrast and is pretty nice, too. Then again, the original color
version looks like a 1930s postcard.

I always prefer colour over B&W. Black and white photography is like listening to recorded music in mono. That's just my personal opinion.
An interesting building. It looks nice and in color, and black and white.
B&W gives me a kind od scary feeling.. Remember Hitchcock's "Psycho"?..

B&W can be very tricky; best of there is good contrast. I like B&W you posted.
This is a tough choice. I'm always a color lover but that B & W version is very striking.
Gotta be color. The character of the place is determined in large part by the color of the stone and brick.
Well, well Jack, its not often we see a B&W here, I like it very much but I'm going with the colour this time, that brickwork is a fabulous hue :)

I see the world in color, but in this case I prefer the black and white version, perhaps because the house looks older :)

Difficult choice, I really like them both. I guess it would depend on what I wanted to use the photo for, as to which I would prefer. To frame and display it would be the b/w, but if I was adding it to a book on beautiful old buildings I would go with the color.
The colors are beautiful but I'm in the B&W camp on this one. I like the crispness and contrast you've gotten with light, shadow, and the traditional lines of the building. B&W is a nice reminder of light and tone from time to time.
I vote for color or even ' colour' :). Impressive building.

B&W, by a wide margin. It is crisp, dramatic and emphasizes the architecture. You are right - the color is a bit off in the second one, like an old color postcard. It detracts from the subject.
You are always talented with your camera, both images are spectacular!B&W gave me a sensation of some movie scenery, I like a lot!
