Mick is another Hartford-area photographer whom I see around, but he is in the big leagues compared to me. Mick's camera has one of those big honking professional telephoto lenses. I really don't know how anyone can hold a camera like that steady!
Jordan and Lauren might be brother and sister, though I'm not sure.
And Mike is another photographer who walks around Elizabeth Park three or four days a week. Mike told me he shoots 1,000 photos a day and has at least a million images. How can anyone manage so many?
I'm liking this nifty fifty lens!

Excellent portraits Jack! Photographing people is day well spent.
You've got me wondering just how big his lens is! :)
These are really great.
great portraits! wow, 1000 pictures a day! where does he find the time to deal with them all?!
More beautiful portraits Jack! I'm with you on those 'one million' photos. I can't imagine a filing system that would work with an inventory that large.
You are putting that lens to good use, Jack. Great portraits!
Great portraits indeed, Jack! And you are putting the new lens to good use!
I can't imagine having a million pics either! Hope your day is off to a fun start! Enjoy!
1000 shots a day..wowsers :) I have a hard enough time picking from much fewer than that :) can you tell me a few more details re the nifty fifty Jack, that is a brilliant portrait.
Great portraits, Jack. Seems like Elizabeth Park is a gathering place for photographers. I'll have to check it out one of these days.
One million snaps, that is a lot of editing. Looks like you are having fun with the nifty fifty Jack.
Excellent portraits Jack!
You find always smiling people, almost always ..
What a nice set of excellent portraits: Mick is my favorite! My personal record is about six hundred shots a day, once in Venice, after that I got bored and tired. Can't really imagine shooting more: that guy is a phenomenon!
Mick has a fabulous smile, and Mike a great way to look at you picturing him; The youngest are so sweet! Great portraits!
Sounds a bit of a fisherman's tale (as in "It was this big...") 1000 photos a day is one a minute for nearly 17 hours a day. Doesn't he eat or stop to chat? - and when does he find time to look at them all?
Great portraits again Jack.
What does one do with 1 million shots? And what does one shoot 1 thousand pics of in one day? Maybe he needs a little pre-editing?
Elizabeth park DP is very cool. Your portraits are fantastic.
My personal record I think dates back to film cameras: 900 photos of Rome in 1 1/2 days...
nice portraits!
1000 photos a day?! thats a bit too much... :)
Very nice portraits. Mick has one of those 1,000 watt smiles that begs to be photographed.
I'm still digesting the 1,000 shots a day concept and tend to vote with Jenny Freckles and Red Pat, though my camera can fire off many shots in one minute. But there's something to be said for being judicious. What's the value of having so many pictures you can't possibly look at or use them all?
Splendid portraits!
Your shots are great and I think I see a reflection in Mick's glass! :-)
My Canon 50mm 1.4 is my favorite lens. I haven't taken any pictures in months but after seeing yours I'm inspired.
I can't imagine how one could keep track of a million photos. Wow!
Nice portraits. Reminds me, Wine time.
That first portrait is a winner. Perfect light, DOF and composition. The third ain't bad, either.
The only way I deal with those big lenses is to use one with 3 stop image stabilization and crank up the ISO for faster shutter speeds. That and just put up with sore shoulders.
Your candid photos of folks are always, always, so doggone good, Jack. I'm very glad that you take them and share them with us.
Great portraits!
The top one is superb!:)
Totally captured the Mick that I love :-). Thanks Jack!
...by the way my Canon 60D, with a 18-135mm lens is coming in the mail today!! About time I get shooting again!!!!!!!
Great portraits, and my favorite camera image. You always do well with your subjects, Jack. Glad that you're having fun with your new lens!
Super portraits Jack
