These places are cool. There's "NovaScotian Crystal" in Halifax Nova Scotia. (Where else, of course?) They have a open garage door and passer bys can watch the glass blowers at work.
I LOVE glass. One of my former students is a glass blower and makes wonderful objects, some of which I have purchased. He has an annual holiday sale when he demonstrates his art work. I try not to miss his performance, some of which I've photographed and posted on my blog. Guess I'll have to do that again this Christmas/Hanukkah season. Isn't it fun to watch?!

Beautiful glasswork but I'm struck by a coincidence. I've been researching some of my old photos that I've scanned recently and will use on my new travel site. One of those photos took quite a lot of work to identify the exact location and I just discovered on Wednesday that it was taken in Quechee Vermont. But, it wasn't this glass work, it was a fresh flower and fruit market called "Fool on the Hill".
Sparkly! I like glass very much. Had a chance to stop by Glasi Hergiswil in Hergiswil (yup), Schweiz --- took home only 2 small but lovely pieces. Please visit PVDP today. I posted my singing group.
Glass can be so beautiful. I don't think I've seen it worked in person. It looks fascinating but I think it's going on the list of one of those things I'm not likely to do.

I could watch a glass blower making projects for hours. Fascinating.

Glass blowing is so interesting to watch, you just have to know when to stop.. Blowing I mean, not watching :))

I've seen craftsmen blow glass before. Kinda amazing.
These folks have my respect; I can't imagine that it's easy to blow glass, and to make so many beautiful items.

I've never seen that done. It's quite a setting.

I've tried glass-blowing a couple of times - like all skills it requires a lot of practise! It is fascinating to watch a good blower at work.
