Usually I show both the reflection and the thing reflected. This time I thought the water carrying the reflection was the interesting thing. I was taking pictures of gentle ripples jiggling a reflection when a raft of ducks paddled into the picture and made it even wilder.
You don't think a bunch of ducks is a "raft?" Don't take my word for it!

"Be a duck, remain calm on the surface and paddle like hell underneath" (Michael Caine, one of my favorite actors)
These guys are always fun. Very nice shot Jack, beautiful light.
It is a good thing that you caught the photos of the ducks on the water rather than on land. Otherwise your raft would have become a safe, based on the obscure terms in the link you provided.
This reminds me. I 've had a hankering for a big bowl of clam chowder... quackers and all.
wow, great photo and haha birdman, i just packed some clam chowder in my husband's lunch...great minds!
You got beautiful interesting reflections in these images!Great work!I love these lovely critters!

Serendipity! And I believe everything you post, Jack, without any doubts, ever. Thanks for the new use of a known word!
I love the patterns on the water, I love the "raft" of ducks but, what I love the most is that link to the dictionary. That was fun!
I love the ducks and their reflections as well as the "raft", and rippling water! Great, fun shots for the day, Jack!! Have a great Labor Day Weekend -- just don't LABOR!!!
That's a cool link, Jack! Like both your shots.
se qu ils sont beaux et l effet de l eau est tres joli ;o)
A raft of ducks: this is a very nice term to learn. I hope I will remember it. Great photo, by the way!
Ducks are always fun, but in this case I prefer the 2nd photo.
The link to Oxford can be useful for me ;-)
Love the movement of the water.
I learned something new and then I clicked the link and learned a lot more. Nice shots and nice post!
They're always a pleasure to watch them out on the water. Good shot, Jack!
Perfect timing, and isn't that just ducky?
So are these friends of my swan?
Beautiful photo.
The golden light creates such beautiful reflections.
Nice reflections! Love the ripples. :)
I love both, along with the warm sepia tones.

Looks like a ducky party!
Great reflections and tones, Jack. Will you have an obstinacy of buffalo for us next week? Bon weekend!

Great pattern... The colors are really beautiful too : it is quite hard to get so neat pictures with so little light, specially with duckies moving like that... Great challenge.
Beautiful photo...very nice captured...
These are such beautiful shots, Jack! The reflections are amazing.
