Senseless Violence
Hartford is experiencing another wave of senseless violence. On a recent weekend, fourteen people were shot or stabbed and two died. This is an impromptu memorial on Ashley Street, remembering a young father of two who was the victim of multiple gunshots. The victim was a high school graduate, employed as a landscaper, and was described as outgoing, frendly and not a troublemaker.
Drugs. Guns. Poverty. Hopelessness. It is a tough cycle to break.

When is all this violence going to stop? HOW do we stop it? Chicago is out of control and Hartford is suffering the same senseless taking of young lives. Very frustrating...what's going on with our culture and young lives??
Such a sad occurrence. That is a tough cycle to break.
This is heartbreaking and it is happening so often everywhere. We had a shooting in the parking lot next to my apartment complex last night -- three people were shot. This is nearly all that we hear on the local news, every day! And you're right, drugs, guns, poverty and hopelessness. Take care, Jack.

How is this possible??? Incredibily sad!!!
This is so sad. Crazy world!
It seems that people pull out guns and knives for the slightest bit of disrespect these days!
Senseless violence? Is there a sensible kind? So sad, Jack, so sad.
Strange, I can't imagine things getting better anytime soon. :-(
KC has the same problems, in certain areas!
So sad.. Seattle's been having a wave of violence too...
This is truly sad. I hope things change for the better.

Drugs. Poverty. Hopelessness.
All these are bad enough.
But guns let these curses turn to disasters for third parties.
When will America take the guns away from the crowds?
