The Hartford Public Library has quiet reading rooms on both sides of the main floor. The walls are covered by huge photo-murals of Hartford scenes, similar to pictures shown here in the last 16 months.
Johnny didn't mind being included in the photo. I put the camera on the glass-topped table, aimed, focused, and pushed the shutter button. Pow! The review shot exploded with reflected color.
I went to the opposite reading room and tried again, this time with a businessman and frolicking carousel horses. Not half bad.If you like photographs with reflections, click here to see Weekend Reflections, James' weekly website.

Both great! But I prefer the first one, Johnny seems to be sitting in the green alley, and the picture is hard to understand at first sight, therefore most interesting!have a nice week-end, dear Jack!
These are absolutely wonderful! And the contrast between the frolicking carousel horses and the staid businessman is a fun bonus. Well, his part of the background IS office buildings so he isn't placed too far out of his realm.
It's a great place this library! I wish we had something like this here!

Wow, Jack these are two really great shots. I love how the people look like they were superimposed into the photo.
It took me a second to realize that the top photo was a table top reflection shot.
With such a large expanse of glass tables, I hope they use a "green" glass cleaner for the cleaning crews each evening.
These came out wonderfully. The reflections are perfect (I love the first one, it looks almost like a reflection in a river).

Re your comment about the bike: I wouldn't mind a Harley but have decided (aside from the money involved) that I'm just too damn old to have that much fun. Well, I'd probably fall off and break my head. Not a good idea! You're still young, though. So you go for it!

What a wonderful place to go. Our here in Lexington is almost third world compared to this one. The reflections are super.We do not have any murals inside but we do have some cute ones outside on the wall separating the library property from the building next door.Beautiful shots. genie
Jack, these are wonderful! I especially love the one of Johnny - all those colors and angles and lines, and he's happily reading in the middle of it all - beautiful!
