Above is a night photo of the Connecticut Capitol building, completed in 1878. Below is a view of the Legislative Office Building (1988) and the walkway that connects the LOB to the grounds of the Capitol. A ramp to U.S. Route 84 runs between the two buildings, under the walkway.
My power came back on yesterday.

yeah! so glad your power is back...are you back, too, or still in florida? love your capitol. it's a beauty.
So glad you have power again.
A week without power. Amazing. At least the temperature was above freezing, or you might have had pipes burst.
That is a big office building for a state legislature. But perhaps that is a good thing. Many state legislatures show the effects of having little staff and part time legislators.
On that point, the Arizona State University Law Journal asked Julie and me to write a law review article on SB 1070. We wrote an article, published in the summer edition, not about what the law says, but what the says about the Legislature and the legislative process in Arizona.
Love the night shot of this beautiful building. Glad the electricity is back on. Wow, that took a long time.
This is a very nice complex and your night photos are excellent. Sure glad you finally got power at Starbucks in Florida!
So glad you have power again - and a nice way to illustrate it, with these gleaming lights at night!
Love shooting at night. Great pictures Jack.
Being powerless is a horrible thing. Just ask those politicians!

I'm thinking that as the days get shorter I'm going to have to think about shooting at night. Hope I can get something approaching these excellent shots. Mind you, today in England it's hardly got light -very grey, very gloomy. I'm glad we at least have power. Glad your power has been restored.
Wow, that could be Austria!
Beautiful capitol building and a terrific night shot, Jack! Glad to see you have your electricity back. I'm sure you're glad, too! Or would rather still be in Florida, sipping coffee in Starbucks? Ah, well, they both have their advantages! Wherever you are, I hope your week is off to a great start!

Great night shots! The shades of gold are wonderful, Jack.
For another take on your "lost" electrical power see the NYT. Perhaps it wasn't all just bad weather. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/04/business/the-troubling-connecticut-power-failure.html
Great night photo of the capital buildings.
Terrific night shots!I'm always enchanted by city night lights!
The first one is really gorgeous!

I suppose power never left the Capitol. Grand building of course and I particularly like the second shot which is more unexpected.
Love your shot of the capital building! Did you use a tripod?
Glad you are powered up again!
Hartford is quite lovely at night.
The capital is glowing in lights, well captured.
Nice captures. I always like capitol buildings at night. I hear your Governor is launching an investigation into the stunningly slow storm response by CT power companies. Ugh.
Wonderful night shots! Love the architecture in the first one, but the modern architecture in the second one is nice too!
Thanks for sharing, Jack;o)

Have a nice and happy week****
ps: I'm glad you have your electricity back;o)
Power is back on! Clap*Clap*Clap!
That first photo is very grand looking. Happy to hear your voltage is back up.
Ah, an appropriate pair of great, well-lit, night time photos to celebrate the return of electric power to your home. Way to go, Jack!
Looks like the power is on "big time" there. Lovely shots!
I see a lot of power here, and a couple of great night shots.
Love these night shots. I never seem to have too much luck with mine!
I'm in Arizona right now- (not being too loyal to my Canadian cold;))
...but by the sounds of things I do believe my power may be out at home. DId you steal mine?;)
