Amy Toyen was a 24 year old, newly engaged woman from Avon, Connecticut. On September 11, 2001, she was on the 106th floor of the World Trade Center. She became one of the 3,000 victims who died in the attacks.
Amy's high school raised funds for a statue to celebrate her life. It is in a garden at Avon Free Public Library. Because she was a voracious reader who still loved her Teddy bears, the sculptor -- Marilyn Thrall -- depicted her as a five year old girl.
