I am heading to Wilbraham/Springfield this morning to help my sister with her storm-damaged house. This photo makes me wonder what may happen to areas in that city that were damaged by the tornado. Lots old mills have been turned into art studio space in Western Mass. The house in your photo could be so pretty if it were restored.
It's so sad to see a once beautiful home decay. We have one of those a few blocks down-- gorgeous leaded glass windows and cupolas, slowly disintegrating.
I do so hate to see lovely, old houses like this disintegrating! Afraid it will take more than a neighborhood watch to save this one, but hopefully it will do the job for the people in the area. Great post as always, Jack.
I agree. We had some break-ins here in my neighborhood and the neighbors went right to work. Now this place looks like a haven for undesirables! Right? V
At first I thought you were being sardonic. Then I saw the tv dish and realized that people still live in the neighborhood. Too bad they don't have the financial resources to renovate. But happily, they have the social resources to join together to watch out for one another.

Someone forgot to watch this place ... or they watched it deteriorate ... probably was a lovely building at one time. Sad.
