Out of the Jurisdiction: DTW

Detroit's airport is a gateway between Hartford and the Midwest or West.  I passed through DTW twice this week.  The tunnel between terminals has cool music and constantly changing colored lights from the walls bouncing off all surfaces.

Please visit Weekend Reflections to see more pictures with reflections.

Hee! I was just about to ask if this was the "disco tunnel". I've passed through this place many times, but never managed to get a good shot. Thanks for succeeding where I have not! But did you get the playful fountain?

I've never seen that before and I fly through DTW quite a bit. It has a nightclub feel to it. What airline were you flying? If you find your way to RSW, meander over to Centennial Park.

Very, very cool, Jack! Ahhhh!
I like the blue one best!

It makes me wonder who you were flying with as I think of Cleveland or Houston as being the gateway to the West. (Continental Airways, now United)

No matter, the reflections are GREAT!

i have a memory of the Detroit airport. I was supposed to fly to Milwaukee, but he flight got cancelled. I managed to find a flight from Phoenix to Vegas, then a red eye to Detroit, then fly back to Milwaukee to make my morning meetings. I bought a razor, tooth brush and shirt in the Detroit Airport so I at least would be presentable. I changed in the airplane lavatory. I arrived at my Milwaukee meeting just a few minutes late and announced that I was wearing the latest fashions from the Detroit Airport.

Sci-Fi nearly!

Excellent reflections! I'm already disorientated when I get off a plane, I think all the changing lights would intensify that, but it's pretty.

Wow! This is way more entertaining than walking past large oversized adverts you are not interested in reading about.

This is so cool! The top shot has an aquarium atmosphere. Love it.

That is so cool! I would probably get harassed by security for taking too many photos. :)

You're getting really artsy-fartsy, too. I like!

I don't much like the Detroit airport, though. Spent too much time there when I was flying years ago...and I'd sometimes end up there in mid-winter, trying to figure out how to get home!

Great postings Jack. What an imaginative way of entertaining passengers en route. Happy weekend!

Pretty cool. One airport I haven't been to yet....

Human ingenuity has no boundaries. This is a colorful idea to keep passengers amused or one's mind off the indignities associated with modern air travel.

This reminds me a lot of the tunnel running between terminals in Chicago.

This is SO COOL. It could make me very uncomfortable, though, inducing thoughts like, "Open the pod door, Hal."
