I saw a Little Free Library in Georgetown, Connecticut. This is a national program that encourages people to take a free book or leave a free book or both. There were many Little Free Libraries when I lived in West Hartford, but I haven't seen many in southwest Connecticut.
A few steps away, I saw a structure that looked like a Little Free Library but was for free food. During Covid, a young Ridgefield girl worried about people with food insecurity. She encouraged local businesses to put out food cupboards like this. A local builder loved the idea and started making numerous cupboards and placing them in her name. A local hardware store donates the materials.
