Black-necked Stilt

The black-necked stilt is a medium-sized shorebird with a black head, neck and back and
a mostly white belly.  Its super-long legs are a noteworthy feature.

There can never be enough shore wading birds, in my consideration.

Stilts are not native to these shores, though there was a single individual, known as Sammy, who stayed for several years at Titchwell Marsh in Norfolk. It was very exciting for first time visitors!
