The neighborhood elementary school my kids attended turned 90. Parents, students, teachers and alums gathered outside before a ceremony inside the school. It is a highly ranked school in a town with highly ranked schools, with a good faculty and attended by generally good kids.
We bought a house in this neighborhood 38 years ago in large part because of the school, even though we didn't yet have kids, and because of the proximity of Elizabeth Park. Good call.

Always a good idea to celebrate important occasions, and I am sure the kids loved going outdoors.
Its style reminds me a bit of a school up here.
Good choice you made, Jack!
Jack, this looks much like my grade school. Perhaps there was a school plan that went nation-wide.
There is nothing quite like a great neighborhood school. Glad yours was celebrated!
I was lucky enough to attend good schools too. Reading between the lines I assume the same problems exist in your country as here. Good neighbourhoods have good children and good parents and in turn attract (and keep) the best teachers. Meanwhile elsewhere.....
Good call, indeed. School reunions are, in my experience, either fun or awful but you've no way of knowing which in advance!
It certainly looks to be in good shape for its age.
