Some heavy rain got me to St. Augustine with less time to explore than I wanted.
But, I had a bit of time. My first stop was at Flagler College, a renovation of
the gorgeous Ponce de Leon Hotel, built in 1887.
The ceiling of the great hall is wonderful.
As is the great hall itself.
And the façade.
Two horses drawing a carriage thought I was almost as interesting as I thought they were.
After dinner I walked back to my inn along the bayfront.

Wow!
What a wonderful place.
What an amazing building the college looks to be. Beautiful ceiling. The outside almost looks like something you might find in China.
It looks like a pretty town, Jack!
Beautiful photos of one of my favorite cities! I have some friends who attended Flagler. I hope you were able to take a stroll down Saint George Street in the historic district.
Magical architecture. I was only there once, when I was four or five, but there are still strong impressions of the place in my memory.
That hotel is wonderful. I'll have to add that one to my list of historic hotels to stay in.
Wow.
Great series, Jack !
The photo with the lion is fantastic !!
I've been told St. Augustine is a nice spot. Flagler College is certainly a fine example. And what a nice inn!
