In Hartford, the word "curiosities" brings to mind The Museum of Natural and Other Curiosities,
a taxidermy museum on the top floor of the Old State House. (Really!)
The featured exhibit is a two-headed calf!
In 1787, the painter Joseph Steward rented the top floor of the Hartford state house for a museum to exhibit stuffed animals from far-off lands, like giant tortoises, armadillos and alligators.

I have a tough time even looking at siamese anything. I look away fast.
You've found a real curiosity here!
Oh that is curious/weird :) the whole museum is a curiosity Jack, excellent choice for the theme.
Two-headed animals are so sad. Definitely a curiosity, though.
Absolutely a curiosity! For a moment I thought it was another 'work of art'...
If you have two heads then you have two brains each one working against the other. How do they decide who eats when and what? Very curious for sure!
Oh, a curiosity indeed!! Fascinating place and captures for the day, Jack!! You always manage to start my day with a smile!!! Thanks! Enjoy your day!!
That is very curious indeed, Jack! I think the place would creep me out a bit with all those eyes looking at me! ;-)
The two-headed calf is definite odd and a little creepy. I guess it didn't live long.
Curious and a bit creepy! Perfect choice for the theme, Jack!
Poor thing, it was quite pretty really.
Wow, that is a curiosity for sure!
Didn't you pick a great post for this theme?!
I don't think you could find anything more curious than that!
A very curious choice for curiosities. I am with Birdman in that I feel discomfort at Siamese images, not revulsion but a great deal of sadness and sympathy.
I wasn't sure what to expect from today's theme but I certainly didn't expect a two headed calf.
Very much like a travelling freak show, Jack. Nowdays, shooting and stuffing animals would get one pilloried in social-media, as one unsuspecting dentist recently found out.
What a curiosity, Jack, poor thing...
aw poor little thing....this room is crazy! a definite curiosity!
What a great place.
I was sure that this was a 'smoke and mirrors' sort of photo when looking at the thumbnail. What a museum and totally full of curiosities. Nice one!
This theme day photo takes the cake.
Right. I didn't know that siamese calves existed but then again, why not? Excellent post!
