I was on Cape Cod last week. First Encounter Beach in Eastham is the place where
Miles Standish and some other English bullies tried to steal the Indians' winter provisions.
They were beaten back and sailed on to Plymouth.

First Encounter is a west-facing bayside beach, so the sunsets and afterglow can be wonderful.
This photo shows the patterns of water and sand, at the price of less color in the sky.
So, for fans of evening colors, here is a photograph from a camera aimed into the western sky.
And, for contrast, here is a shot taken seconds later, shooting eastward toward the beach.

Stunning, isn't nature amazing? It's interesting you can catch such shots on the East coast.
Stunning!
All of the skies in your photos are remarkable beautiful and colorful. Sweet pastels.
Interesting take. Thanks for the 'both sides now' look at the day ending at the beach.
Never ceases to amaze me just how speedily the colours in the evening sky change from moment to moment.. Stunning colours here Jack.
What a glorious way to end a day -- any day!! Your captures are superb, Jack! I do have a "thing" about beautiful skies as you probably know by now! These took my breath away! Thanks for sharing the beauty!! Hope your weekend is going well!
I read somewhere that the light on Cape Cod is very special and your pictures confirm this to be true. The first shot is especially wonderful.
Gorgeous shots!
Can't quite get enough of these...
What fantastic sky colors!
Outstanding! You've caught the best of a sunset beach. I love that first shot.
Almost as nice as your Naples' sunsets, Jack? Gorgeous!
I'm going to check out this place on a map!
The sand structure in that first shot is fabulous, Jack !
