Checking out the Park

What have I been thinking?  I haven't shown you the gardens at Elizabeth Park since early summer.

By August, the color in the rose garden is winding down,
but the annual garden is at its most colorful.

And, the perennial garden and its gazebo's quiet beauty afford a calm place for
people to reflect by themselves.  (That is helianthus on the left.)

Then, along comes Saturday afternoon.  And all of the weddings.

Even the rose garden comes alive.

That solitude in the perennial garden?  Gone.  But, in a happy way.

The wedding was a bonus, eh. ;)

You must be camping out in the park this summer. Or are you just 'lost' in some sort of self-inflicted maze? Lucky you.

Beautiful shots of all the garden activity.

I wonder if they need permits to do the wedding photography, Jack? The busy parks here require a permit in order to prevent people getting into arguments etc if it gets too crowded - helps to ease the already frazzled nerves.

Such a fun, colorful, beautiful post for the day, Jack!! There was a lot going on there for the weekend!! Wonderful captures for the day as always! I do hope you've had a great weekend!! It surely looks better than our gray, smoke-filled one!!

We both have park pictures today but I've never seen a wedding in our local park. When I was in Boston I noticed people actually having the marriage ceremony in the park, not just the photos. You can't do that here.

This really is a beautiful park. And I'll bet people there aren't any impromptu elopements there. "Let's see...I can book you in late August, 2017. Does that work for you?"

I just visited your latest post, and along with some of these photos, pink seems to be the color of the day!

I can see the appeal of the gardens for weddings. I have no idea if there's a need for permits here... there are locations popular for wedding photographers in the summer.
