Bushnell Plaza was designed by I. M. Pei in the 1960s.
There is a high-rise tower and a curved low-rise housing unit. Hartford's Bushnell Park is to the west. Main Street, Travelers and the Wadsworth Atheneum are to the east.
The plaza has become a wasteland.

What a contrast between these two shots. Both fantastic in their own way!
You are amazing! Is this the Soviet Union now or Russsia? Looks the same to me.
After a strong wind and rain storm or electricity just came on after what seemed like days but was just a 24-hour hiatus. Would hate to live without it.
Tres dramatic composition in first shot Jack.. stunning second image.. no lack of people in this square :) enjoy!
All of Pei's buildings are strong to me. That word fits his vision.
It does look very stark and forbidding.
Lucky you! Добрый день!
Both great! Wonderful first shot Jack.
What an incredible contrast indeed, Jack!! WOW!! Awesome! I have to agree with Ciel, too, that first building is SO stark!! Hope your trip is going well!! Look forward to more pics soon! Enjoy!
Oh wow Jack, I'm so jealous. That is one place I've always wanted to go. Moscow and St. Petersburg are on my list. Great photo of St. Basil's.
Pei's plaza needs some humanizing - Art, Food, Something? Love your pic of Red Square!!
Ah, so that's where you went!
The plaza could use a farmer's market, or restaurant terraces.
Beautiful take on St. Basil's!
I agree both shots are very nice.
What a pair of shots and what a study in contrast! Add me to the "envy you!" list. Red Square is on my list though I'm not sure it's high enough that I'll actually get there.
wooooowww. you are in russia? would love to see that as well....
Great composition in first shot, Jack, and the second is also fabulous!
Great tourist snap from Moscow!
The buildings couldn't be more different but both are interesting - and well photographed here.
