Three Horses

These three horses stand on a sloping lawn beside the West Hartford town hall, just above Blue Back Square.  The sculptor is Karen Peterson.

Children might be attracted to climb on the art.

My first thought was the same as Dave's. I wonder how many kids (and adults) have tried to climb on them?

Rather a modern touch to horses. They probably wouldn't fly in Ocala - we like our horses real! Or made out of ceramic or acrylic or plastic.

I'm wondering, though, if you took the advice you gave Grace in Perth. I mean did you ask if you could take their picture? :-)

I like them very much Jack, lovely soft curvy lines, how good do they look frolicking in the snow!

p.s. thanks to you, you can expect to see more 'people' of Perth shots Jack, merci beaucoup!

Beautiful, and will get a fresh layer of snow this weekend. I imagine that you little birds have flown south for the warmer weather?

I really like the sculptures and the way the snow makes them come out. After admiring them, I might want an Italian lunch.

I thought exactly the same as Ciel :-)

Neat sculptures, especially with the fallen snow. I wonder, though, if there are issues with people climbing on them and possibly damaging them.

Nice display of public art...

Makes me think of the well-known horse sculptures at Las Colinas, just outside of Dallas. These are much more subtle and beautiful. But then Texas is a little down on the subtlety index.

A lovely addition to any town! You should be glad you're not in Hartford now. I thnk they're being hit by the same storm we are getting.
